AcrySof Toric

AcrySof® Toric IOL corrects both cataracts and astigmatism, providing patients with the opportunity to be glasses-free for distance vision. Astigmatism is an extremely common vision problem that hampers the ability for people to see fine detail. It is caused by an irregular curvature of the cornea or the lens.

AcrySof® Toric- Astigmatism Correcting Implant Lens

If you have astigmatism before cataract surgery, you can often choose to have the AcrySof® IOL implanted at the time of cataract surgery. When this lens is implanted, glasses are needed less frequently post-surgery.

Research Data

Clinical trials have shown that four out of five patients who have undergone bilateral cataract surgery did not require glasses or bifocals following the procedure.

In fact, 84 percent of patients experienced 20/25 distance vision or better and 20/32 near vision or better. 85 percent of AcrySof® ReSTOR® patients experienced 20/40 binocular intermediate vision or better.
